Snow at the Falls

I took a trek out to Big Falls county park to see what I could see.  I was amazed at how much ice there was out there already...definitely no more canoeing this year.

It was a beautiful day for a hike...notice the river below the falls is completely frozen over.

A mini water fall.

A clump of grass clinging to a rock face covered in frosty spray.

The Eau Claire fork of the falls.

Leading up to the falls...all is calm.

Above the falls, notice all the floating ice...gotta be some chilly water.

The border between the frozen section and the liquid.

I wonder if birds get cold sitting on snowy branches.

The sun was casting some mighty shadows.

new Life.

I've been rather absent from the blog scene for a bit now...a fact that i'm sure has made it to the New York Times by now.  Many of my avid blog readers have made pilgrimages to my humble Wisconsin home to lay tributes on the stoop, perhaps in the hopes of a renewed life in "the life of tim".  Fear Not!  Your cry's have been heard and the masses shall be appeased...or something of that sort.

So to start things off I figured I would post the pictures I took from Halloween.

Collin joined Brian and I carving up some pumpkins to add that touch of Halloween to our pumpkin-less porch.

Tangled up Show

So i have a show going on the whole month of August at Tangled up in Hue, a store downtown.  The show started with a bang on the fifth, lots of friends and family made it out...cupcakes were provided. These are some pictures of the paintings that went into the show.
 Snacks!

i just started laying down some color and messing around with the design until i liked what was going on.

I got the base by smearing all the colors together with my hands and a shirt.  Then i started laying down some lines for some composition.

I was also painting the plaid one at the same time using the colors i made from the smears.

 see the guy?

This is one i've had for awhile...The Nom Nom Nom guy needed a friend.

Seth n' Katie get Hitched!

My good bud, Mr. Seth Cormican, had a grand ole wedding this past weekend.  The wedding was held in some small town in Southeastern Wisconsin.  Somewhere in the Milwaukee neck of the woods.  The boys all got together a couple days before hand so that we could reminisce about days past.
This is the crew leaving Eau Claire.  I brought the canoe along in hopes of using it...turns out we just ended up hauling it around.  This saddened me.
The tarp that provided us shade.  We had an excellent campsite for tarps.
The Male half of the wedding party.  (plus me of course)
Oho!  We had a splended time catching up on each others lives.
The boys are back in town.  We went to Milwaukee on Friday to eat lunch and roam the streets.
We had lunch at the Rock Bottom Brewery.  It was very tasty!
While waiting for a spot on the patio we got a picture with the Bronze Fonze.
Jalapeno Cheese Spinach Dip...I would go back to Milwaukee just for this and the Summer Ale.
 It was a hot day.
They had some really awesome sculptures along the river walk.
The crew practicing for the big day.
Getting ready the morning of...so exciting!
We lucked out and had amazing weather for the ceremony...everything went great.
 Love this one...so happy!
Ma and I...Mom made it out to represent the Barnes family, dad was in Alaska on tour.
 The Groomsmen.
The crew.  They got a stretch hummer for the wedding party to ride around in before the dinner.
We took pictures out on one of Katie's relatives farms.
I felt the whole wedding party got along really well.  At the dance portion we were out there pretty much the whole time.
And fun was had by all!
